Lake Koombooloomba

Lake Koombooloomba Holiday Park sits near the dam wall in Far North Queensland, offering a quiet spot for campers and caravanners. The sites are mostly grassy and shaded, but don’t expect luxury — it’s pretty basic, though well kept. Booking is by request, so make sure you lock in your spot ahead of time if you want to avoid turning up to a full park.
The park is a good base for fishing or hiking in the nearby Girringun National Park, but services are limited. There’s no shop on site, so stock up in Ingham or Tully before you arrive. Power and water are available at most sites, and the amenities block is clean enough, but don’t expect a resort-style setup.
