Mataranka Homestead Tourist Resort is the main stop if you’re passing through this part of the NT. It’s got cabins and powered sites for caravans and campers, plus a pool and a basic shop. The place can feel a bit tired but it’s one of the few options around, so it’s popular with travellers doing the Stuart Highway run.

The hot springs are just a short walk away, which is handy if you want to soak after a long drive. The powered sites can get busy during peak season, so booking ahead is a good idea. There’s a pub attached, but the food and prices are pretty standard for a remote spot – nothing fancy.
