Penola Caravan Park sits on the edge of town, just off the main street corner. It's one of those no-frills spots that’s got powered and unpowered sites, plus a few cabins if you’re not keen on pitching a tent. The amenities block is basic but clean enough for a quick stopover.

It’s a handy base if you’re exploring the Coonawarra wine region or just passing through on the way to the coast. Parking is tight when the park fills up, so get in early during peak season. Expect the usual country flies around summer, nothing unusual for the area.
