What the connector does
The Total Parks MCP connector lets compatible AI assistants answer travel-planning questions using Total Parks data instead of relying on generic web memory. It can help travellers find parks, check whether a stay looks feasible, understand room or site details, review planning availability, and continue to Total Parks when a stay looks viable.
Travellers can ask questions like:
- "Find family-friendly caravan parks near Eden with a relaxed beach vibe."
- "Can two adults stay at BIG4 Aireys Inlet from 10 July to 13 July 2026 with one kelpie and a 6.5 metre caravan?"
- "Which August dates look open for a cabin?"
- "Will my 9 metre motorhome fit any sites?"
- "Tell me more about that powered site."
What the connector does not do
The connector is read-only. It cannot:
- Create carts, hold inventory, take payment, or confirm bookings in chat.
- Cancel, modify, refund, or manage an existing booking.
- Expose park phone numbers, emails, websites, or direct-contact details through the anonymous pre-booking tools.
- Guarantee complete national coverage outside parks and room or site types visible on Total Parks.
- Replace checkout verification. Final availability, restrictions, and payment are confirmed on Total Parks before booking.
How to connect
In a compatible MCP client, add a remote MCP connector with these settings:
- Server URL:
https://mcp.totalparks.com.au/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: none, no authentication, or public access
If the client asks for SSE, leave it disabled. The production Total Parks MCP server uses Streamable HTTP.
In Claude, add the server as a custom connector from connector settings, then ask Claude to use Total Parks for park-specific stay-planning questions.

For concrete stay questions with dates, guests, pets, rig fit, price, or availability, the assistant should use Total Parks' stay assessment rather than assembling a verdict from separate helper checks.
Interpreting answers
- Confirmed means Total Parks has stronger structured evidence for the fact.
- Inferred means the fact is based on lower-confidence data and should not be treated as a guarantee.
- Unknown means Total Parks cannot currently confirm the fact.
- Calendar availability is planning-tier only.
- A booking link is a handoff to Total Parks, not a reservation in chat.
When a stay looks viable, open the Total Parks booking link to review the park page, confirm details, and continue through the normal checkout.
Troubleshooting
If the connector does not connect:
- Check the URL is exactly
https://mcp.totalparks.com.au/mcp. - Select Streamable HTTP if the client asks for a transport.
- Do not enter a bearer token or OAuth credential for the public connector.
- Confirm your MCP client supports hosted remote MCP servers.
- Try again later if the client reports a temporary network or server error.
If an answer looks incomplete:
- Ask the assistant to "use Total Parks" explicitly.
- Include the park name, state or region, dates, guest counts, pet details, and rig dimensions if relevant.
- For flexible-date browsing, ask which dates "look open" rather than asking for a guaranteed booking.
- For final booking certainty, open the Total Parks booking link and continue through checkout.
Privacy and data
When your assistant calls the connector, Total Parks receives the structured information needed to answer the question, such as park names, search terms, dates, guest counts, pet details, rig dimensions, and public Total Parks property or room references. The connector does not ask for card details and does not complete payment or booking actions.
